Mourn Retiree

Richard James

UFCW 8 retiree

Richard James passed away in May at age 60, following a courageous 14-month battle against cancer.

James had worked as a Meat Cutter at Bel Air Markets 512 in Roseville. His family and colleagues remember him as a strong and proud Union supporter.

“My dad always told us how important it was to him to be a member of UFCW 8,” said his daughter, Lisa Wahoviak. “He

often spoke to my sister,

Christine, and me about the

benefits of being in a Union and how those benefits helped our family enjoy the quality of life we had.”

    James worked with District

Union Representative Mark Berns and mentored many other Meat Cutters, including Regional Coordinator Rick Salton.
